Laser Hair Removal
in Halifax.

Fusion laser hair reduction at our Bedford Highway clinic, offered to patients already under our care. It is not a standalone service, and we do not take hair removal bookings from the public.

Access

Reserved for established patients.

Laser hair removal is a volume business almost everywhere it is sold. We run it the opposite way: as a small adjunct to medical care, for people we already treat. That means the person holding the handpiece already knows your skin, your history, and what you are taking. You cannot do that at volume, so we do not try.

Fusion is available to patients actively under our care for injectable treatment, skin remodeling such as Morpheus8 or Lumecca, or vascular work. If that is you, raise it at your next appointment and we will assess whether it is appropriate. If it is not, the honest answer is that this is not the clinic for hair removal, and we would rather tell you that now than after a deposit.

Clinical Efficacy

Targeted Melanin Disruption

By targeting the melanin in the hair follicle, the laser disables treated follicles to reduce future growth while helping to protect the surrounding skin. This is precise medical work, carried out under Dr. Al-Sharief's oversight.

Skin Type: Fitzpatrick I–IV

Fusion pairs an 810 nm and a 1064 nm wavelength in a single pulse, which lets us treat a wider range of tones than older single-wavelength devices. We treat Fitzpatrick I through IV as routine.

Fitzpatrick V and VI

Deeper skin tones carry more epidermal melanin, and with it a higher risk of burns and lasting pigment change from any hair removal laser. We assess types V and VI with Dr. Al-Sharief individually before agreeing to treat, and we decline where the risk is not justified. That is a clinical limit, not a scheduling one.

A Series, Not a Package

Hair grows in cycles, and a laser only affects follicles in the active phase. Effective reduction therefore takes a series of sessions spaced to your growth cycle. We schedule those sessions as the skin and the response dictate. We do not pre-sell blocks of treatments.

What the Result Is

The accurate term is long-term hair reduction: fewer hairs, finer and lighter where they return. Some patients need occasional maintenance. Anyone promising permanent removal is describing a result the technology does not reliably deliver.

Frequently Asked Questions: Halifax Laser Hair Removal

Can I book laser hair removal if I’m not already a patient here?
No. Fusion is offered to established patients only — people already under our care for injectable treatment, skin remodeling such as Morpheus8 or Lumecca, or vascular work. We do not take hair removal bookings from the public, and we do not sell it as a standalone package. If you are considering care with us more broadly, a consultation is the place to start; hair removal may follow, or it may not.
Which skin types do you treat?
Fitzpatrick I through IV as routine. Fitzpatrick V and VI are assessed by Dr. Al-Sharief individually before we agree to treat, because deeper tones carry a higher risk of burns and lasting pigment change with any hair removal laser. Where that risk is not justified, we say so and decline.
Why limit it to established patients?
Because the safety of this treatment depends on knowing the person in the chair — their skin, their history, their medications, their sun exposure. Clinics running hair removal at volume are working from an intake form. We would rather run it small and know the answer.
Does the treatment hurt?
The handpiece applies contact cooling before, during, and after each pulse. You will feel a brief snapping sensation, and most people find it manageable without numbing.

Established patients: full pre- and post-treatment instructions are below. If you are new to the clinic, a consultation covers the treatments that are open to new patients — not hair removal.
